Environmental Wellness

Environmental wellness is an awareness of the unstable state of the earth and the effects of your daily habits on the physical environment. It consists of maintaining a way of life that maximizes harmony with the earth and minimizes harm to the environment. It includes being involved in socially responsible activities to protect the environment.

While this aspect of wellness is often thought of in terms of nature and outdoor environments, indoor environments are also included. Moldy apartments and dingy, poorly lit and uneven stairways in buildings (would you take the stairs or elevator?) are examples of indoor environments that affect health.

This is especially important when the weather is bad, and we spend more time indoors.

Tips for optimal environmental wellness:

  • Stop your junk mail

  • Conserve water and other resources

  • Minimize chemical use

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

  • Renew your relationship with the earth
